Letter from the Brentford FC boardroom, 12th November 2006
Dear Supporters,
Many supporters have expressed their concerns to me about the team’s recent performances and the continuing winless run. I share that concern as does the Club’s board and the manager who are discussing the situation.
Since the appointment of a new Managing Director I have been able to reassess my role on the Club board. The reason I had not done this before was because very shortly after my appointment the then CEO resigned. This resulted in me (and my fellow directors) becoming more involved in different aspects of directly running the Club. Due to time constraints I was not able to do the things I planned but with Keith Dickens’s appointment this has changed.
I have now defined the scope, responsibilities and requirements of the role and had this agreed by both Bees United’s and the Club’s boards. This document can be viewed here.
Each season I will set objectives for the role which will be agreed in consultation with supporters and both Bees United’s and the Club’s boards. You can view the objectives I am working to this season by looking here.
As well as providing a performance report at the end of the season on achievement against objectives, I will be providing updates throughout the season.
If you have any comments about the definition of the role and/or the objectives then either come along to my surgery next Saturday between 1.15 and 2.15 pm at St Paul’s Church Centre (see map), St Paul's Road, Brentford (straight after the Bees United AGM) or contact me via
Let’s work together!
Jon Gosling
