Grimsby Town Programme, 16th August 2008
Welcome to our first home League game of the season. I am sure you will agree with me, particularly if you have seen any of our recent friendly matches, that we could have a very exciting season ahead of us if the team reproduce their performances in the League.
Today as a “thank-you” on behalf of both the Club and Bees United Boards, I am really pleased to be hosting in the Boardroom three of the four supporters who walked to Stockport for our final game of last season. They did a fantastic job of not only raising money for Bees United but also being superb ambassadors for our Club. The three who are here today are Natasha Judge, Claire McNicholls and Chris Tate. Please show your appreciation for their efforts prior to the match. We are arranging with the fourth member of the team, Peter ‘Pedro’ Maynard, who unfortunately could not be here today, to visit the boardroom for a future match.
Last season I adopted the practice of holding every other surgery in the Princess Royal (which is where I am today), with the remainder being held in different parts of the ground. This allowed me to meet many more of you to discuss what was on your mind concerning the Club. I intend to carry on this practice for the forthcoming season up until my current term of office expires (21st February 2009).
The dates and location of my surgeries are as follows:
| Date | Match | Location |
| 16 August | Grimsby Town | Princess Royal |
| 6 September | Dagenham & Redbridge | Braemar Road – The Hive |
| 4 October | Macclesfield Town | Princess Royal |
| 1 November | Rochdale | Ealing Road Stand |
| 13 December | Bradford City | Princess Royal |
| 2009 | ||
| 17 January | Notts County | New Road Stand |
| 7 February | Chester City | Princess Royal |
The surgeries will be held between 1.15 – 2.15 pm and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
Let’s all get behind the lads today and do our bit to help the team to our first home win of the new season.
Let's work together!
Jon Gosling
