Surgery held on 16th September
On Saturday, 16 September I held my second surgery of the season for supporters in the Princess Royal. I met with five supporters. I would like to thank all those that came to meet me. The main topics that they raised were:
- What is the status of the of the proposed ground improvements at Griffin Park? Tenders have now been received for the roof on Ealing Road. These tenders are higher than the Club budgeted. Negotiations are continuing to take place to see if we can reduce the quotes to an acceptable level. If we can, we will then seek the approval of the Football Foundation for the work to begin.
- When will Stripes music nights start again? Whilst the refurbishment for both the learning requirements and hospitality has been completed there is still some work to be undertaken to restore the full programme of gigs. This work includes improving the level of soundproofing and re-installing the stage lighting. The MD is now in discussion with the “Gigs Team” with the plan to re-open the music nights quickly. For information on up and coming gigs see www.hivemusic.org
- As not all supporters have access to the Internet, can the Club communicate not only in the programme but also in the Chronicle? The Club does recognise that not everyone has access to Internet and it does also put key pieces of information in the Club programme. Whilst the Chronicle is often very helpful to the Club the paper does have final say on what appears in their publication, so there is no guarantee that the message the Club wants to get across will appear. I will however talk to the MD to see how we can improve communication to supporters.
My next surgery in the Princess Royal will be before the home game with Gillingham on 21 October between 1.15 - 2.15 pm.
