What happened at the Surgery?
On Saturday, 25 August I held a surgery for supporters in the Princess Royal. I met with seven supporters. I would like to thank all those that came to meet me. The main topics that they raised were:
- Supporters continue to be concerned about the Club Finances. I was asked if Matthew Benham would be willing to give an update to supporters on his plans for his future involvement with the Club, particularly financially. I undertook to contact Matthew and ask him if he wants to issue a public statement on his future intentions.
- Was there going to be another walk to Wycombe for the forthcoming fixture? Yes, if you are interested in taking part contact Chris Tate either by email c.tate@madlins.co.uk or ‘phone on 07760 483 331.
- How many season tickets had been sold? 1,978.
- Why was the Andy Frampton transfer fee “undisclosed?” In any transfer deal either party has the right to say whether or not they want the details of the fee to be made public. Brentford FC has taken the position that it will always make public any details; unfortunately Millwall FC did not want the details of this fee disclosed. As this is a contractual requirement Brentford FC must respect their wishes.
- Why is the kick-off for the Swindon Town match 7 pm? One of the aims of the sponsors of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is to try to encourage as many children to attend matches as possible. Swindon felt that having a 7 pm kick-off this would offer encouragement for them to attend. So Swindon requested this kick-off time and Terry Butcher agreed.
- What is the cost per spectator paying on the day which is used to budget for gate income? The figure is currently £13 per spectator.
My next surgery in the Braemar Road Forecourt will be before the home game with Stockport County on 29 September between 1.15 - 2.15 pm.
