What happened at the Surgery?
On Saturday, 1 November I held my forth surgery of the season for supporters in the Ealing Road Stand. I met with 5 supporters. I would like to thank all those who came to meet me. The main questions that they raised were:
- How much money will we get for the televised game with Havant & Waterlooville? Our share of the television money is £75,000. Also we will get 45% of the gate less expenses and, should we win, another £20,000 as prize money.
- Why will there be no standing terrace at Lionel Road? The plans have not been finalised so it is too early to say that there will be no terracing at the new stadium. The main factor that would stop the inclusion of terracing is the policy of the Football Stadia Improvement Trust, from whom we need a grant to finance the building of Lionel Road. Their policy is that they will only give grants towards the cost of new stadia if they are all seating. It should be noted however the Football Supporters’ Federation are actively campaigning for the inclusion of safe standing areas in all stadia. Hopefully this campaign will change the view of the Football Stadia Improvement Trust and enable us to gain the maximum grant with the inclusion of terracing.
My next surgery will be in the Princess Royal public house before the home game with Bradford City on 13 December between 1.30 - 2.30 pm not 1.15 - 2.15 pm as previously advertised.
